ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization. They develop international Standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. ISO international standards give an assurance that the products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality. They provide some very good tools for dealing with the challenges of the globe. These standards help the companies to probe and look into opportunities into the new markets. The ISO 9001 is a standard process which traces a process approach to implement and support a quality management system. This is a very important standard as a result of which all leaders are involved in this and aim to make this a success. Since the 1980’s it has been recognized globally and most of the companies aim to obtain this because it is a framework for a customer oriented organization. Quality is very important for any organization as a whole. Once the goals are set, it is the job of the quality team to review the goals on a continuous basis to ensure that the company is on track to achieve those goals with the highest quality. ISO 9001 certification helps the organization to obtain a clear documented process and procedures and improves the quality of the output. The quality of the process is measured regularly and any deviation is corrected at the earliest which in turn also leads to the low number of defects.

ISO 9001 certification will help an organization to achieve consistent and ongoing processes and a very stable system which is very much needed for the success of any organization. There will be fewer problems with failure related to the service or the product, ensuring a more reliable product to the customer. This also helps to obtain a better management model and reporting process to enable the organization to function better.  Companies who have completed this certification have reported better results and mentioned about more labor utilization. Customer is the king- is the sole mantra which the ISO 9001 aims to achieve. The business world has a common model for a quality management system which ensure that the customer requirements are solely met and the services are delivered on time in the best possible way
